4.30.04 (2-61) Restricted Radius - General Merchandise for Hire
Policy
The 2-61 plate class is used to register a vehicle that transports the general merchandise of someone other than the registered owner. The vehicle must be operated within a 10 kilometer radius of the city, town, specialized municipality, village, summer village or hamlet of the registered owner’s business/residence address.
Registration Requirements
A client:
- Provide proof of acceptable identification, see Acceptable Identification/Enrolment – Section 2.05.02.
- Provide proof of ownership, see Vehicle Ownership, Creation and Registration Documents – Section 4.00.01.
- Provide proof of insurance, see Insurance Documents – Section 4.00.02.
- Provide an Alberta address, see Addresses & Acceptable Abbreviations – Section 2.10.01.
- Provide the Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW).
Operating Requirements
One or both of the following requirements may be required for operating purposes only:
- A Safety Fitness Certificate (SFC).
- A Commercial Vehicle Inspection Certificate.
