Policy

The 1-60 plate class is used to register a vehicle that is operated province wide and transports exempted goods of someone other than the registered owner, see QR 4.15 Exempted Goods List (pdf).

Pilot and trail vehicles are registered with a 1-60 plate class.

Registration Requirements

A client must:

• Provide proof of acceptable identification, see 2.05.02 Acceptable Identification/Enrolment.
• Provide proof of ownership, see 4.00.01 Vehicle Ownership, Creation and Registration Documents.
• Provide proof of insurance, see 4.00.02 Insurance Documents.
• Provide an Alberta address, see 2.10.01 Addresses & Acceptable Abbreviations.
• Provide the Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW).

Operating Requirements

One or both of the following requirements may be required for operating purposes only:

• A Safety Fitness Certificate (SFC).
• A Commercial Vehicle Inspection Certificate.
