4.60.03 Regulation Codes

Policy

Reduced registration fees for first applications and renewal services are controlled by a Regulation Code in accordance with the Registry Agent Product Catalogue (pdf).

Regulation Codes

09-ambul

For an ambulance to be eligible for a Regulation Code 09-ambul, the vehicle must:

12-mount

For a vehicle to be eligible for a Regulation Code 12-mount, the vehicle must:

Cement trucks and tank trucks (e.g., water, fuel, etc.) do not qualify for a 12-mount Regulation Code. See QR 4.16 Permanently Mounted Equipment List (pdf) for a list of sample vehicles.

13 –bedtk

For a vehicle to be eligible for a Regulation Code 13-bedtk, the vehicle must:

  • Be registered as a Class 1 or 3 commercial vehicle.
  • Be a single motorized vehicle exceeding 13,000 kgs (excluding trailers).

14-fire

For a truck, equipped to fight fires, to be eligible for a Regulation Code 14-fire, the vehicle must:

16-towop

For a towed vehicle to be eligible for a Regulation Code 16-towop, the towed vehicle must:

17-pvbus

For a private bus to be eligible for a Regulation Code 17-pvbus, the bus must:

ONE WAY

For a vehicle to be eligible for a Regulation Code ONE WAY, the vehicle must:

  • Be registered with a 1-56 plate class. See 4.25.07 (1-56) Truck Rental for registration details.
  • Have its initial application approved by Alberta Transportations’ Prorate Service.

no-comp

No registry agent service fee. This is the Regulation Code used to override a registry agent service fee.

00-nil

No government fee. This is the Regulation Code used to override the government fee.
